Vermont Gives Day is May 17
May 15, 2018 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Nonprofits throughout Vermont will participate in Vermont Gives, the state’s second annual day of online giving, to be held on May 17th. Initiated by Common Good Vermont, in collaboration with the Vermont Community Foundation and other local sponsors, this event will raise funds and awareness for nonprofit organizations located throughout the state.
Fueled by the power of social media, Vermont Gives unites nonprofits in a call to action to raise critical funds they need to make our communities a better place to live, work, play and serve. It is modeled after the internationally popular Giving Tuesday, but this initiative is more regionalized, encouraging Vermont donors to give local first. All money raised here, stays here. Donations can be made to Green Mountain United Way by clicking the Donate button at the top of the page, or to other agencies online at VermontGives.org. Use #VTGives as the hashtag in your social media!
Here at Green Mountain United Way, we are raising money to expand the reach of our K.E.E.P. Financial Coaching Program. Through this program, United Way-trained Financial Coaches help clients and community members understand and manage their financial lives in ways that help them meet their life goals. Coaches are embedded in agencies all over our region and we want to help give more people the opportunity to serve their community as Financial Coaches, and more community members the skills and support they need to take control of their financial lives! We are hoping to raise $2500 on May 17th toward this program. Donate now as part of Vermont Gives Day!
“As nonprofits all across the Green Mountain State face many unknowns with state and federal funding cuts, Vermont Gives is an opportunity to come together to further build a community of philanthropy and giving. We look forward to this opportunity to further our missions together to create a stronger, more vibrant nonprofit sector” said Lauren-Glenn Davitian, Executive Director of Common Good Vermont.
