Legislative Advocacy Volunteer or Intern

Description: This internship or volunteer opportunity for VCIL involves attending meetings at the Vermont Statehouse on Tuesdays through Fridays as assigned and as volunteer's schedule allows; take notes; say nothing; and report back to VCIL’s Advocacy Manager. People who would like to learn more about the legislative process, policy development, and civil rights issues, are encouraged to send a brief statement of their interest and/or related course work or experience to the Advocacy Manager in the Montpelier Office.
Issues currently important to VCIL include physician-assisted suicide, maintaining existing funding or improve funding to programs that help people with disabilities, and equal access to 21st century communications with the infrastructure to support it.

Location:11 East State Street, Montpelier VT

Requirements: good listening skills and strong note-taking skills are important
