We need volunteers for our Reparative Boards and our COSAs (Circles of Support and Accountability)
St Johnsbury Community Justice Center
Description:
We need a few residents of St. Johnsbury to fill vacancies on our St. Johnsbury Reparative Boards, which meet with offenders and victims involved in low level crimes to discuss the impact of the offense, how amends can be made, and how the offender can learn not to re-offend. The commitment is one 2-hour meeting each month.
We also need volunteers for our COSA program. Circles of Support and Accountability are groups of 3-5 community members who commit to working for one year with an offender coming out of jail to help him or her reintegrate into the community on a positive basis. Time commitment is one hour per week.
Location: 108 Cherry Street, St Johnsbury
Requirements: Volunteers must complete a training curriculum which is developed in part by the Vermont Department of Corrections and in part by the St. Johnsbury Community Justice Center. No other particular requirements.
