Description: The American Cancer Society of Vermont is currently seeking volunteers to assist with the “Road to Recovery” program. With the help of volunteer drivers, the American Cancer Society is able to provide current patients with transportation to and from treatments and appointments.
This is an ongoing volunteer opportunity with two hours per week required, as well as unpaid. We hope to attract five volunteers from each county to be able to offer this service to those in need of transportation.
Location: Vermont
Requirements:
- American Cancer Society volunteer drivers must have a safe, reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- Safe drivers who keep their cars in good condition and have the proper insurance coverage.
- Volunteers must have a good driving record and be in good health.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Attend an initial training session for new drivers.
- Emotionally stable, friendly, and compassionate
- Reliable in following through with all commitments.
