Vermont AARP Tax-Aide Program Seeks New Volunteers
You could help your neighbors with their tax returns…all it takes is a commitment and a little training. Each year from the first of February through mid April, AARP Tax-Aide volunteers prepare federal and state tax returns for low and middle income taxpayers with special attention to those 60 and older. AARP Tax-Aide, the nation’s largest free volunteer-run tax counseling and preparation service, is seeking volunteers to assist in tax preparation.
You will receive training in the preperation of Federal and State income taxes for senior and low income area residents. with primary attention on our senior citizens.
Upon certification you will work with other volunteers for 40 or more hours during the 10 week period from 2/1/2012 to 4/17/2012.
The training will take place in St. Johnsbury Vermont which will also be the site of most of your assistance.

Requirements: Volunteers of all backgrounds are welcome; you do not need to be an AARP member nor a retiree. No prior experience in tax preparation is necessary and volunteers of all ages are welcome.
