Community Impact
Through a comprehensive community assessment, Green Mountain United Way has identified the following four community impact areas as a framework to improve community conditions and establish lasting changes.
- Economic Advancement: GMUW initiates and supports programs to help build economic stability, financial literacy and sustainable assets.
- Health: GMUW partners with area hospitals, health agencies and community-based organizations to promote fitness, nutrition and healthy living.
- Education: In an effort to reinforce the valuable role of parents and caregivers, and increase awareness of the importance of early education, GMUW is promoting an awareness campaign called Born Learning.
- Community Needs: GMUW responds to immediate needs in the community by collaborating with organizations regarding food, fuel, transportation and housing, and by supporting programs including the information and referral service called Vermont 2-1-1, and the FamilyWize prescription drug discount program.
